Hey MADPOWER,
A couple friends and I are planning on going
Presidents Day weekend in Feb. as long is the weather is good and the creek isn't too high. Do you know if it usually gets crowded that weekend.

I've got a bunch of friends and acquaintances from California, and we all got on a web page to post trips to PISMO, DUMONT, GLAMIS, etc. If you want to plan a trip or meet someone down there, just post it on our page!

For you Pismo-regulars, how do you deal with rust? Heavily wash your bike with fresh water, or is there no avoiding it?

Just stay on the dunes and out of the water. If you need to go in the water spray you bike down with WD-40.

I took my first ATV to Pismo in '84 and I been a regular ever since. Bare metal will rust overnight just from the salt-air. I've never ridden in the ocean and I always wash my bikes when I leave the beach or when I get home. I've constantly worried about rust and getting sand in my motor. I think my bike's in such good shape because I'm so paranoid about it. And like MP said, "WD40"!!!!
