New news from the rumor/truth mill!
Word on the trail is some dummy burnt some semi truck tires by the parking area so the land owner said that was the last straw. They will be erecting a gate before you cross the tracks and the only ones with a key will be people that rent a campsite off Sam A. But don't worry because the con-men (Roberts, Springer) will let you park on their land off of dry run road for a fee, off course. These are the same PEOPLE (not the word I usually use to describe them) that tried the charging last time, so this is try #2. The man tring to tell everyone to stay out off the parking area, actually has no authority doing so (roberts), when Amos Rawson is the land owner there. Here is my opinion if you want it, the person who burnt the tires if there was actually a tire burning was one of the above PEOPLE, so they could start charging again, but at a different spot.
I will be going down there next weekend wether it is through the front door or the back door, so I will keep the info posted.
Remember Beware of the PEOPLE and the rumors they spread

To all Yellowcreek Pits Riders.........

Here is the deal to what is going on. We went down today to find out that Craig Roberts aka Hillbilly and his partner in crime Warren Springer were threatening still to tow anyone caught parking at the staging area.
They were telling folks they could camp and/or park at their campsite up off of Dry Run Road for a fee of $7.00 per person. Their new campground is called Forbidden Zone Campground (what a catchy name, eh?) Forbidden is right.....They claim Amos Rawson (owner of the land that the staging area is located) doesn't want anyone parking there. This is a LIE!!! Some of our local boys talked to Amos's nephew and he said that Roberts is full of ****! He doesn't believe that his uncle knows anything of this.

This is the funny thing about all this......

Roberts claims Amos doesn't want anyone on his land, but yet did not tell riders who paid they couldn't ride on that part of land. They were also parking folks along the power line, we know that Springer doesn't own this land, the power company does (Springer in fact only owns 10 acres). Not to mention the fact, the road going down into the campsite, we believe to be an access road for the power company. They are making money off of others' land. Riders were not told of any designated areas to ride. They are promising mud bogs, hill climbs, sand drags, etc.... Sound familiar? Think back, 3 years ago??

Here is our suggestion.....

If you go to ride, try parking at the staging area. If Roberts starts his crap, ask for proof of the right he has to tow anyone. He should have some kind of legal document signed by Amos Rawson, if what he states is true. If you are not comfortable with that, you can park at the old brick yard along 213 or even park along Dry Run Road. If you go on down, past the so-called campground, there are several spots wide enough to accomodate a truck and trailer. This is a county road. If worse comes to worse, park at their campground but ask for a receipt when paying. Any income earned, the IRS wants to know about. They are also having riders fill out a form, but with no mention of waiving any liability. If you fill this out, ask for a copy, you are entitled.

If anyone goes riding down there, let us know what happens. The locals along with OMTA and other organizations are trying to straighten out this mess and keep this place open for all to enjoy.

UPDATE- APRIL 9TH

I was there last weekend. I talked to the new person that is running the main campsite. (Bob is bedridden) He said that they are not charging anymore because craig roberts-who was charging was renting from the owner, but he did not pay his rent so he no longer is renting from him. He does however have some land around scoobydoo and he is starting his own campsite. But, I wouldn't recomend camping from him. For those of you camping in the main campsite. The gate is being locked so bring your keys. Also, quiet time is midnight and they are inforcing the speed limit(2 kids where hit last year) And he said that Sam is not raising rent up 100.00, but we'll see when May 15th comes along. There is also going to be a campsite somewhere around lookout but not sure who owns that.

Roberts only owns land around 25th street heights(and this is a maybe), which is also known as look out. He does not own the land at scooby doo, Warren Springer does and they are in on this bullcrap together. Do not deal with either one of these crooks. The main road, known as old Rt 7 that goes past the industrial park in Wellsville, can be parked along side of. There is a curb, it is not painted yellow, so legally you can park there, as long as you are not blocking the road and there is enough room for a firetruck to pass by. I have already talked to the Wellsville police, and they said this is true. Roberts tried to get people towed for parking along there, but the police would not do anything to them because it was not illegal. Just make sure you park along the right side going down in.
