Details: Meeting at the Super One Parking lot on Hayden Avenue at 9:00am leaving by 9:30am Sharp to the Hayden Creek area where we will ride to the Cascade Lodge then return on a different route to Hayden Creek. Approx 56 miles
Bring a lunch as we are not sure the Lodge will be open at this time.

 

Well,, yesterday's little day ride turned into work. On the way up Mica, we met a guy walking down with a rifle. I stopped to see if he was ok, and he told us about his stuck toyota. We gave him a ride to stuck toyota, and then spent some time trying to pull him out with my winch, and two Rincons. We tore the heck out of the road trying, but could not get him out. My wife and I gave him a ride to a local farm, while nancy decided to go riding on her own. We got to the farm, and the farmer followed us to the stuck toyota with his tractor, where he proceeded to get the tractor stuck. We then drove the guy, and the farmer back to the farm for chains to put on the stuck tractor. We got the chains strapped to the Rincon's front racks and then drove the guy and the farmer back to the stuck tractor so they could chain up and pull out the stuck toyota. My wife and I drove back to the parking lot to find Nancy sitting on her tailgate waiting for us,,,,she had no atv with her. She had stuck her polaris in the snow at the top of Mica. We drove back up the hill, winched out Nancy, and drove back to the parking lot to leave. Nice ride eh? You'll notice that there were no Hondas stuck at anytime[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

LOL--sounds like u had an intersting ride

Today was awesome. Weather was a touch cool but the riding was great. Road over to trail 28 then down into hudlow meadows to the warming hut. Had lunch then back out. Great ride great company and some snow to play in. FUN FUN FUN!!

Have any of you guys ever tried tracks on your atv. The Polaris dealer in Greenacres has an 800 Sportsman with Polaris brand tracks on it. Suuuhhweeet!!!!
You gotta go down there and take a look at those things. Chris at the parts counter says they turn as easily as tires due to the shape of them. He says that they will go through and over stuff you wouldn't believe[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Yeah I've rode a Bomb with tracks and a Brute Force. They were the AD Bovin tracks. Very cool, you could go most anywhere. But it did turn like a tank. There's like a 50% or more gear reduction so your range is limited. They were fun to ride, but I personally wouldn't fork out the $ for them. You could almost buy another quad for the price. Would like to see the Polaris in action.

 

Its about time you came around to the right way of thinking!!!! I knew you had it in you!!!!

Seriously though--it would be fun to ride in the snow with a machine with tracks on it--but not sure if its worth the money!!!!

Ther was a guy at the 10,000 silver dollar bar last winter that was climbing all over the big mountains of snow while we were unloading...amazing! There aint no way a tired quad could do that....BUT....there aint no way he could go the places I go with my sled....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
