Gary, I asked and here is the answer. With 17/38 gears, 22inch tires and a pipe a DS650 will pull around 100mph. I was told that this is the hot set up for desert racing. But then again I shouldn't believe anything that I read or hear so this has to be BS! Of course you won't even consider to believe this either because I think you are so clouded in judgement because it is not a Yamaha. I will get even more info on this.

What does me actually having possesion of my ordered machine have to do with the fact that something has been done with somebody elses machine? Are you implying that I won't get posession of my machine. If i wanted I could have bought and already owned ten Raptors with cash on the spot. but I didn't want the Raptor because of my size. I don't know of too many 6'4" 250# guys that are comfortable on a raptor. At least I'm not. So don't give the impression that because I don't actually have possesion of my bought and paid for DS650 X that I can't make a statement about DS650's in general. As a matter of fact I am going to make a statement about Raptors from my experiences with my riding buddies. They are unreliable and tend to fall apart after about a year of hard riding. Three of my friends have them and each of them are on their third one. Even though they have been falling apart and have taken major beating on resale value, they love them! Now I can't speak about all Raptors all over the world but that has been my friend experiences with it.

I never said that all Raptors had problems, Only my three friends that I know of. They all bought them from the same dealer so maybe it is the service department and their set up and prep procedures, I don't know. The size of ATVs is a game of inches and I personally am not comfortable on a raptor. There is only about 5" of room between my knees and the handle bars. I feel scrunched up and bent over while sitting on it. Maybe it is the seat height between the seat and the foot pegs and too low handle bars. I feel that the DS650 is a perfect fit and is ergonomically correct for me. I also felt very comfortable on the KFX700 and was seriously considering that machine, but ultimately wanted a "true" sport quad and bought the DS650 X.
