wolverine u joint

Default u joint

my wolvy is making a nocking or binding sound/ feel. the front universal joints seem a little loose. if they are no good would they cause a nocking or binding sound/feel

Check them and wiggle.. if they are you might need new ones. i'm not really sure. I never had that problem!

Universals to the front diff or the CVs on the drive shafts? I'd say check and see if the bearings are loose first by jacking the front up and wiggling the wheels(I've gone through 3 sets, guess I need to quit riding on 2 wheels). If those are tight check your universals on the shaft between the engine and differential (mine went bad and I replaced with better greaseable ones). I hope its not your CVs, cause I believe those are $$$. Good luck.

cv joints run about 220 per side.

its the universals to the fron diff. the ones on the shaft from the motor to the front diff. they do wiggle a bit.

Thats good to hear. I had my universals replaced recently, they are fairly cheap. Make sure to get greasable ones put in.

Believe it or not it's not the price he charges you for labor you should fear, but instead it's the price of the Yamaha u-joints. At least 5 times the price of going to a bearing supply house.

ive heard you can get them at napa for around $20
