more air will get in
more water could get in

you will need to rejet

you will need new pilots and mains
you should get a new filter and outerwear

ultimately, you will notice a gain in hp.

u need to rejet because the increase of air needs increase of gas flow. bigger jet, i would think 20 or 30 bigger and your set. on my old blaster, i stock it was a 230 jet, i removed the lid and put in a 240 jet, ran like crap so i put in a 260 and it ran great. takes some experimenting, but also, then u will also get a lot of stuff in ur air box, so get outerwears or something, or a better filter, i think with no lid a uni or regualr foam filter is the best, well oiled foam filter.

Buy an outerwear for that K&N, it really helps in the sandy conditions.

Try a 160/165 mikuni setup and probably 25 needles.

Because if you remove the lid and run a K&N with an aftermarket pipe, you will need more gas getting to the carbs to compensate for the increased air flow in and out. You replace the pilots because they controls throttle from idle to 1/4 throttle. More than likely you will need this change to get it to idle and put around correctly.
