Default Rounded Off Drain Plug - Will Bolt Grip Work?

I rounded off my oil drain plug on my Blaster. I was wondering if i could go buy an Irwin Bolt Grip set from my employer and if you think that will take out the rounded off head. Also, i just got a generic M12-1.25 oil drain plug from an auto store, will that work of do I need a Yamaha plug?

I had the same problem on my warrior and a extractor set that goes on nuts wouldnt take it out because the metal was so soft and the couldnt get enough grip on it i ended up fliping quad on its side and taken a klaw hammer and hooking under the edge of the plug and breaking the lip off and it spun right out then. Kinda of risky and i didnt like doing it but was only way i could get mine out. I put factory plug back into thats how i knew it had the ring that would pop off if pryed on and it wasnt but like 6 or 7 bucks new.
