Default Ordered my +12 swingarm today!

I'm going to test it on the 14th down at Sahara. Hopefully that cures my starts. Then I should be ready for Aledo.

Just a quick question for the texas boys. Why do you guys run 4 snows at Aledo, but when I see video of Kelly running his 4.2 he has some huge paddles. Is it a different surface? Than at Aledo, just wondering.
Thanks.

Pro Wedge 2, 4 Snow's, and Zippers perform best on the dirt track's like Aledo.

But how do you plan on getting any traction at Aledo with a +12? I had a 4.5" extension on it, and spun like crazy on the dirt tracks here. So I went back to stock swingarm with a wheelie bar.

Well I have a 4.5 extension too. Might have to run that setup at Aledo, don't know. Just don't want to wheelie like I do in the sand.

I understand the long swingarms in the sand where you don't run wheelie bar's and stuff. But on a dirt track the long swingers kill you on holeshot. I found that out fast.

+12 may be a little overkill but I'm real happy with a +8 on dirt. I was running with 2 other drag Raptors at Bedford PA on Saturday, both of them had +8 also. Starting in 2nd, I had just enough wheel spin to keep the revs up with my **** near the back of the seat. A couple of times I didn't have the revs up when I dumped the clutch and instead of spinning, the rear tires hooked and the motor bogged a little. The front end comes up a little when that happened but it wasn't anything too scary. ET and speed were better with a little wheel spin off the line.

The Bedford PA track is 500 ft of hard packed clay, 4 snows never got traction when I tried them a few weeks ago. On Saturday, I tried uncut Turf Tamers and YFZ Dunlop radials. The Turf Tamers were more consistant, the Dunlops would spin sometimes and hook hard others. I'm going to change my gears a little and try the Dunlops at the next race, the fact that they hooked hard sometimes means I should be able to get more out of them if everything else is set up for the extra traction.

You all dont see his signature do you, he has a 1000cc engine in his raptor, he may need the wheelie bar and the +12 if you ask me....

Get some video of that swingarm installed and ripping it up!!

Yea I think the +12 is not overkill for my power. Its for sanddrags. We have some video of it, on its first time out. We had a ton of problems getting the footage off the damn camera. I don't think I will use the digital again, I wil go back to my vhsc.

With the long swingarm and huge sproket my chain is going to be around 140 some links. A huge chainsaw.

1000cc engine or not, on dirt he will lose traction, and that cost you time....in 300ft every .1 matters.
