Well hounddog I dont know what to tell you. My friends and I have dg nerfs on two banshees, two raptors, a z400, two honda 250Rs, a warrior, and a 400ex. All fit perfectly and have held up great. My friend tried putting a set of ac's on his warrior this summer, they wouldnt fit. I have torches, a miller box, and a wire feed. But I wasnt about to use that kind of equipment on something my friend just paid over 100 dollars for. We send them back and got dg's. When we first got the R's, we tried ac. They were junk then. My friend bought an R last winter, tried a set of ac's, didnt fit. Bought dg, work great.

AC also makes their bumpers and grab bars out of junk metal that bends and twists just like stock mild steel. Their nerfs have also appeared to be made of inferior material, as I have seen three people at my racing events with severely bent and repaired ac nerfs.

Just my experiences, I believe that others have had good experience with AC. Its just that neither I, nor anyone I have ever known, has been as happy with them as they have with DG.

I meant no offense maddog. I have just had very bad luck with DG. In reality there if probably very little difference between their products, my bad experiences have just been with DG. As far as the inferior material... I wouldn't go that far. As any utility riders will tell you, nothing bends faster than DG bumpers.

Utility atvs are another arena, and there are companies that make much better products than either ac or dg.

The ac bumpers and grab bars I have seen and used are made of thinner, almost stock like steel. Very few ac grab bars are aluminum, and the ones that are typically not all that thick.

No offense taken, hope you werent either. Like I said, different experiences.

If that's not a true statement, I don't know what is. I now use nothing but PRM bumpers and grab bars, best shiz out there. I use DG nerfs, that's about all DG is good for, although I'm sure the other mfgs. make fine nerfs. DG bumpers are the worst trash out there, they bend and break just by looking at them. I have heard of a lot of fitment problems with AC stuff, from bumpers to nerfs to grab bars.

Also, I'd never ride a quad again without nerfs. All it takes is once. It may not have happened, but if you ride long enough and hard enough it will, and you'll thank that nerf bar for being there.

It all comes down to this... anytime you buys parts that are mass produced they won't all be exactly right. Now fit a mass produced accessory (such as nerfs or bumper) to a mass produced bike and you have even greater chances for incorrect fit. For now, its the best of all evils.
