I'm redoing the clutch on my banshee, and what tools do you need to take it off/ put it back on. Also what is the best clutch kit? Tusk/ Hinson/ Barnett?

12mm wrench for the kickstarter, flat blade screwdriver for the coolant hose, phillips screwdriver for the cover bolts, 14mm wrench for the footpeg, 10mm wrench for the clutch spring bolts.

KG clutch factory kits work very well. I have them in my TT stroker motor. They are pretty cheap and any dealer should be able to get them

Make sure not to lose the ball inside the clutch when you pull the pressure plate off.

 

What he said on taking it apart.I recommend using Yamaha FZR clutch fibers with Barnett steels and springs.We run this setup on all of our drag bikes and recommend them to my customers.It will hold up to any abuse you can throw at it.Either run all the springs or run 3 stock and 3 Barnett,this will give a lighter clutch pull.Alba sells it as a kit and so does A&S Racing.

 

Before installing the new fibers make sure you soak them in motor oil (same oil you would run in the crankcase of your bike). Adjust the clutch with the adjustment screw in the middle of the pressure plate and get around 1/4 inch slack. Also be careful tightening the clutch spring bolts because I accidently broke one. When you take off the coolent hose make sure you have a pan to catch the coolent so you don't make a mess. Also don't be fooled and take off that center circle plate on it because that thing is there for no real particular reason.
