Default What's a good alternative to K&N filter cleaner solvent?

Just wondering if there is a good, cheaper alternative to the cleaner and oil for the paper K&N filters because the stuff they recommend naturally is way too expensive...Lets hear it...Later

I was wondering the same thing. I have some castrol super clean and simple green. I was going to try simple green on mine.

What else could be used for filter oil?

Isnt this being penny wise/pound foolish? You are protecting a fairly expensive toy. Buying the 32oz cleaner from Rocky Mountain ATV is cheap, I certainly dont go to a dealer to buy that stuff.

I don't think it is foolish at all. I don't use the 16 dollar oil filter but I use the 4 dollar one from Bosch...Just as good and it has been working for 3 years now. Same goes for coolant and many other items that manufacturers recommend on using with their products that they happen to sell at outrageous prices....Now

Well for a filter oil alternative I have used Marvel mystery oil. Just put some in an empty windex bottle, this has worked great for me.
