I was doing alittle sand dragging with a friend of mine a couple weeks ago, we both had stock rear tires on, we were both about dead even. I bought some new offset wheels with razors on them, we raced again yesterday and he actually was a bit faster than me.

 

You were probaly messing up, or the tire is to heavy for the YFZ.

I was really happy with the tires that come on the yfz, there alot better than the crap that comes stock on some other quads.

 

Yeah, we were thinking that the stock tires hookup alittle better in the sand than the razors. I don't think that I was screwing up, we probably raced 10 times. Stock tires are a bit taller than the razors he got me on top end every time.

 

I've got stock YFZ rear wheels and tires on my blaster...i like them a lot. has nice offset for a blaster, added like 3-4 inches to the rear.

 

You nailed it on the head. The razors are known to not be a very good sand tire. The stock tires are more rounded, and better at the ability to "float" on the sand.
