Default POP THE CLUTCH

Ok this may sound dumb but here it goes...I am not familiar with the term "POP THE CLUTCH" what do you mean when you say that? Do you mean shifting without using the clutch lever???

you rev the engine and "pop the clutch" to get a better jump of the starting line in a drag. you just rev the engine and let go of the clutch fast

Generally, "pop the clutch" is used derogatively toward someone who simply lets go of the lever completely which is incredibly hard on the drive train. You will also hear the term "slip the clutch" referring to the more experienced riders who can play their clutch to obtain the right amount of clutch slip to maintain their RPMs while letting it grab enough to spin the wheels the desired amount.

is it bad to pop the clutch? what does it do? i do it all the time and my blaster is still running fine... i think
but i dont want to do something that is bad and is eventualy going to destroy my clutch. i have noticed some quirky feelings when shifting lately... hmm any advise would be appreciated. sorry if this is off topic and btw it can also be refered to as "dump the clutch."

It puts alot of strain on your tranny. I do it, sometimes you have to, but i don't make a habit of doing it. Maybe its time to change that tranny oil.

i learned the hard what that means. which was my fault, i used to have a tri-z, we were all out rideing and the throttle was bad about sticking. so had brew in right and and holding the clutch with the other hand with it in first gear and the trottle sticks wide open and i loose of my left hand (forgot it was in gear). next thing i know i'm laying on the ground. i think the bike did a back flip before it rolled down the hill.
