How about those outhouses? The place where the fourth of July parade ended had a wood double sided outhouse. It had peoples names etched into the boards and had a strange aroma. (not what you'd think but worst) It had little holes where kids tried to peak back and forth.

Thank goodness for portable potties.

These days you just can't go where ever you want. People used to hunt with hounds where ever the coon would lead them. People could float down a creek without each and every landowner screaming: "hey, your on my land!" You used to be able to enjoy a walk in the woods without being worried about someone yelling at you. Sure there was always that place at the end of a lane that you were warned not to go near. We stayed clear of a crazy cat lady.

The problem is the disrespect that people show for a persons land and property. Little by little the whole country will be on lockdown with signs and fences all over the place.

1. Chipping ice out of a cistern and cooking it on a stove to take a bath.

2. Praying that the weather would be nice so I could pick up channel 10 out of Knoxville to watch the Dukes of Hazzard.

3. Catchin' crawdads in the creek by my house.

4. Swinging off a rope into the swimming hole.

5. Shooting targets with my Daisy BB gun.

6. Training Beagles with a rabbit hide.

Very good thread!!

We still have a working drive-in where I live

Growing up, we used to go to one around Chicago called "Sunset" had a playground right below the screen

We use to sit on the engine cover, between the driver and passenger seat, in a early 70's brown, Ford van that my uncle had while going to the lake
Try doing that today
