Default Crossthreaded screw that holds the airfilter on......cant get it off

i know... the plastic cone that the bolt goes into inside of the air filter has a nut inside of it. the plastic holding the nut in place probably broke or stripped because u could of put the bolt on to tight. so, it is just spinning the nut inside the plastic, the same thing happened to me. i had to use a pair of cutters to cut apart the plastic and get to the nut inside. i hope u can figure out my explanation.

There isnt a nut on the other side. The bolt screws into a little plastic thing that looks like a triangular cone and the plastic part is threaded. Maby there is one on the bottom of the plastic deal but if you think about it the filter is prety tall and that doesnt leave n e room for it to go down through the little plastic thing at the bottom, that is why it is a cone shape that sticks up. ( at least i think)
exaclty, the cone has a nut inside of it. and it could be just spinning, the same thing happened to me.

the nut is completely inclosed in it. u need to take off the back fender, and disconnect the manifold going to the carb. then under the plastic, where the air filter is, near the fat part of the rubber tube, is 6 small nuts. take them out and the whole air filter and cradle will come out. i had to go thorugh this without any help when i put in a new filter. remember next time to just get the bolt snug, and not tight.

I meant once you allready have the cradle the filter is on out by taking off the nuts on the inside of the back fender.
