Default clutch?

Welcome to the forums. Shifting a lever clutch is all about getting used to it. When starting from a stop you need to let out the clutch slowly while giving a little throttle. Enough to keep the motor revving but not to much. When riding all you have to do is let off the throttle and pull in the lever then use the foot shift to shift up or down, then let out. I would just practice tooling around at a slow rate to get used to it first. Then gradually move on to shifting through the gears and then back down. Practice makes perfect. Good luck with your new purchase.

advice-
Don't pop the clutch, ease it out.
Make sure you let off the gas before you shift gears

Since there is no rpm gauge on a quad, you have to learn to listen to the engine rev and then get used to staying in the power. By that I mean getting used to where the engine is producing the most power in each gear. It just takes practice, cuz you dont really want to be bouncing of the rev limiter (if there is one). Most clutches can take some serious abuse before they give out.

if you've been riding any type of gasoline powered engine then you will know when to shift, and you can "feel" the power band rather easily....
