IS a head pipe needed on a wolverine/warrior?
#1
I am lookin to buy a exhust system for my wolverine. I read some of the older post bout the pipes for the wolv/war and it seems like everyone has there own opionon. But is a head pipe really neccassy? If it is what full system is the best? I was thinkin DMC or Duncan.. But if u dont get any improvement for a head pipe i might just go for a pro circut. how does that sound?
thanks

There aren't too many companies making headers for the Warrior. FMF is one that does & of course they will say it adds performance. Since the Warrior has a large stock header, many feel that it is quite effective. Hondas for example, have a comparitively small head pipe and an after market one can help in air flow.

Howdy I also have a Wolverine with a DG pipe on it...and yes the head pipe is a good idea...it is alot more free flowing because of the bend of the pipe itself...the one lesson I learned the hard way was not to buy an alloy pipe again....it has broken thre times and cost more to have it rewelded then it's worth...look for a steel one..I seem to recall Cobra manufacters a steel pipe for our quads...a friend of mine had the same problems with his pipe breaking also..also the head pipe is a larger diameter then the stock one...

Go out and buy last months 4-wheel atv action (the one with the 25,000 feet atv jump on the front cover). It gives some tips for popular 4-strokers (including the warrior). If I remember correct, the advise was to get a pro-flo set-up first and a slip-on silencer second. The word was that the stock headpipe is large from the factory and works good on modded motors. Get the book or re-post before the end of the day and I will give specifics tomorrow.
