Default Ok, now I'm panicing - HELP

Just got back this afternoon from picking up a used 2004 Wolverine from a guy in MA. 6 hour round trip to bring it back home here in Orange Co. NY.

I test rode the bike and it rode fine, got it home and rode it again. Again, it was fine. Then I washed it thoroughly and WD40'd pretty much all the metal parts. I rode the bike one last time and everything was fine.

I parked it for about 45 minutes and went out to ride it again, and it starts just fine, but now it won't rev past idle. When I try it sputters and bogs. it idles just fine, but when I give it gas, it bogs.

Anybody give some insight?

Is this another parking brake limiter issue?

Its obvious and simple, but it should always be checked. I believe the wolvy has it.

maddog56 is correct. Check the parking brake switch located on the left lever of the handlebar. There is a moving metal portion that probably isn't pushing against the switch hard enough.

Thanks guys, shortly after posting this, my 15 year old son figured it out for me. Man, nothing like being indepted to your teenage son. He's not likely to let me live this down anytime soon.

The blue button is a compression decocker. It is used to aid in starting of high compression engines by deflating compression during cranking cycles thereby allowing the engine to turn with less resistance.

The guys here nailed it, it was the parking brake. I would never have thought of that. I wasn't trying to move the bike, just rev it and it wouldn't rev.
