Anyone have insights regarding Grizzly 660 vs Kawasaki B/F 650 they would like to share. Looking for new machine for use trailriding / camping.

 

We just baught our second bike. My father-in-law will be the primary rider, until he gets tired of riding, then it'll be all mine! It is an 06 grizzly. The BF 650 is a vtwin 633cc and the grizz is a single cylinder with 660cc. We test drove both and they are both good quads, however, I give the upper hand to the grizz. It felt stronger through the whole powerband as well more controlable than the BF. The grizz has been around longer and is tried and true. Also the grizz has more accessories available than the BF. Either way you'll get a good machine, but I'd suggest the Grizzly between the two.

 

Hate to burst your bubble but both quads have been out the same amount of time the brute force 650 was first released as the prairie 650. Also the grizzly is quite noticably weaker than the brute force 650 and tends to feel like you are riding a tank it is so large, and yes i have spent many hours of seat time on both of these machines.

 

Are you telling me a 633cc is stronger than a 660cc?? Vtwin or not , NO it's not!!!!!! Also the BF 650 just became IRS this year, and the grizz has been since 2001 or 2002 an been around since 1998. It's a perfected machine. I have never seen a prairie past 2002. You shouldn't have said that. The Grizz guys are going to attack you.

 

dude, u obviosly dont kno wat ur talkin bout. any grizz owner would tell u that riding the grizzly is more like riding a cadillac than a "tank", unless u mean it goes through anything, which would be a compliment. if u have ever taken a real ride on the grizz then u definatelly would never say that its uncomfortable. its not that big since there are so many other quads out there that are the same if not bigger. and dont even start with the grizz being "weaker" than the 650... kuz u and i both kno that u just pulled that out of ur @$$!

 

cootie now see what ya gone and started, 1st off guys when Kawi came out with the V-Twin they nailed it! The ride definetly goes to the Griz ,although not as sporty a ride as the BF650. Torque and quickness goes to the BF650 top speed is really close the bf or p650 just gets there quicker.I have owned both the p650 and the griz and have raced them against each other many times stock vs stock very close.I cannot knock either quad they are both great!!! On the griz I do like the instant engagement of the 4wd system , better than the bf650. If kawi could fix that I would be more convenient.

 

by the way.... i may have come off as a bf hater in that last post... which is not true... because i actually thought about buying the bf650, and i like them.... im just saying that wat that dude joechum is saying is full of shizz.

 

i never said the grizz didnt have a great ride. yes ill admit it rides better than the 650, but when u get on the grizz after the prairie it does feel like a tank because its soo much bigger. i will still stick with the 650 being stronger than the grizz. they may be close on top end but getting there quicker the grizz has nothing on the bf/prairie.
