kx is all low end more of a supercross bike. THe rm is mostly a mid end bike all around pretty good not as much power as cr or yz (newbie like bike) Yz and cr are pretty close mostly top end but they are both bad little bikes. I would take either one I like yamaha but honda is more reliable. The cr is better than the rm and kx but is mostly even with the yz and sx.

when honda came out with the aluminum framed cr125, alot of ppl griped about the lack of snap, but each year they tried to make the motor a little stronger but ppl still said it felt underpowered compared to the yz,rm,ktm, and on par with the kx. from 02 and up the yz has a pretty good bottom for a 125(when fresh) a good mid range hit, but kinda falls on top. a new pipe will boost the over rev to the way it should be, but i like using the torq of the bike to blast through corners and up jumps. as for reliability, i just pulled my top end off and as long as u clean the air filter regularly, ull have no problems at all. but in the end, it all comes down to the rider

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Kawi doesn't make the KX 125 anymore?

They still make them, they just dont import them into the US. As for the 125's, I believe (well its pretty obvious) that Yamaha and KTM will be the last two to keep making them and I believe that they will still sell well. Eventualy, KTM will be the only company to offer any kind of 2-stroke.

Oh here's Kawasaki in Canada offering the 06' KX125.
