OK, I tried taking the carb a part and cleaning it, along with the acclerator pump. Everything seems to be in good working order. I've tried all the eleterical ideas and everything seems perfect.

But yet the Warrior still dies when you punch the throttle. Tommorrw I'll be picking up two larger (43 & 43.5)pilot jets to give that a try.

I talked to the Yamaha dealer and they say that the problem is common to all 4 strokes, yet all the Honda's don't do it.

Once the revs are up, you can punch the throttle no problem. Just when its idling and you hit it.

Any ideas?

I have a wolverine 2000 that does not have that problem, but a friend of mine has a 95 wolverine and it has that problem. I know they changed the carb they may have also done something with the cdi box. Hope this helps.

Well, if you're sitting at idle and you punch the throttle all the way open...most engines are going to bog down or die...just doesnt have enough RPM's to keep it from flooding.

My warrior has never done that. Your Yamaha dealer is pulling the wool over your eyes.

Okay, here's your likely problem. The accelerator pump is not contacting the arm that actuates it. Pull the plastic cover off and look at it when you open up the throttle it takes a bit of travel to engage the pump shaft. If you lengthen the shaft by putting a cap (made from the screw on/off piece on the top of a spark plug where the wire contacts find a small screw to insert partly to fill the hole or it will slide over the shaft.) This will effectively lengthen the shaft making your accelerator pump work far more efficiently. I did this to my Warrior and the hesitation disappeared. Simply the accelerator pump shaft isnt as long as it should be. Just look and see for yourself.

My warrior had the same problem when it got hot. i had to change the spark plug. my dealer told me that if you have an old enough spark plug then when it gets hot it will stop working. so try getting a new sparkplug.

OK people I pretty much solved the problem. I changed the pilot jet (45) and moved the clip on the needle down a notch, effectively moving the needle up. Just to let you know I tried the accleratior pump mod and it didn't work.
