Grizz 660 or AC H1??

me and my dad used to have an old 92 honda fourtrax 200 and we still have it but somethin is wrong with the whole rear swingarm so were bringin it in soon and my dad wants to get a new ATV for hunting and recreational use and towing things aruond the yard for yard work..and were looking at the 2007 Arctic Cat 650 H1 and the 2006 grizz 660..well be using it for towing some stuff around the house, hunting (my dad), technical trails, open trails, mudd, hills, rutted out trails, snow, plowing the driveway in the winter (we have a pretty big driveway), some open fields and roads, some rocks and mostly everything you can think of from fender-deep rutted out mud holes to open fast past trail riding to snow and work and that so which one of these machines would be best for this?? also i as wondering cause i kno the H1 has good low end power well thats what i heard and i was just wondering how the grizz's low power is compared the the H1 liek is it that big of a difference? also how big of a difference is the ground clearance? like can u notice the difference at all?? thankss

Have you asked this same question onthe AC forums? You're likely going to get some pretty skewed answers asking only here.
I will admit to knowing little about the 660, but the H1 has gobs and gobs of power down low. It also is excellent in the mud (with better tires) and the ground clearance is second to none. You will notice ground clearance differences in the mud and ruts and in technical sections (rocks, logs, etc.).
I think they are both nice machines and the choice will be difficult.

also i was wondering how the 4 WD systems are on each cause i heard that the ACs have realli good system and you rarely need the locker and when u do you just lock it and it just about claws through anything at all..is the grizzlys really good to? and i want a really reliable one that i dont have to fix something every year.

Good topic! I'm in the same boat looking at buying the AC 650 H1 LE or the Grizzly 700. I can't decide for myself, which is what I'm gonna end up having to do, but it would be great if I could get a little extra advice from you guys as well. I'm very new to Yamaha and Arctic Cat because I've owned honda's for a long time, but they seem to have been left behind when it comes to features. My biggest concern with these two atvs is reliability. I know Yamaha makes reliable atvs, but this new 700 hasn't been around very long and already has a recall on the shifter. What is your advice on what atv I should buy???

AC has a top rated 4x4 system, very well liked, and the locker is also top rated, and does pull through some amazing stuff. Of course, i own an AC, but i would also buy a Grizz if the wife allowed me to have two quads. I would buy the Grizz before i would buy an outty. But i like the Cats as my #1, Grizz #2

I will add a little anecdote about my AC. Despite its amazing ground clearnace, I got it high centered. In 4x4 it would move around, but not off the obstacle. I engaged the locker and wiggled a little and it came right off. I don't ride in mud, but have a lot of rocks. I sure am glad I had the locker. All else being equal but one quad with a locker and one without (don't know enough about the grizz to be sure), I'd go with which ever one had a locker.

I've shared my opinions on both quads in a previous post... so I'll try to sum it up...
The AC (w/ v-twin) has great ground clearance, plenty of power and a stiff suspension.
If you get stuck with it, it's a bear to pull out, even with the help of another quad or 2, because it's so heavy... (had to leave it over night and use 3 quads to pull it out.... That was some really nasty stuff though.)
My buddy also has repeating carb problems... (particularly with the choke) it's been in the shop 4 times because of it...
The belthousing for the AC isn't setup well for draining either. So don't get water in it... or you'll be tipping it on it's nose to get all the water out...
Other than that... it's a fun machine, and I would definately take it over a suzuki, polaris or honda.... (course I'd drill a hole in the belt housing and use a boat plug for it... )
The Grizzly 660 is a great quad and well built. It won't win many races, but has plenty of power and runs great in the mud, and is the lightest big bore quad on the market... The diff-lock works great as well.
It doesn't have the ground clearance that the artic kitty has, but you can toss your weight around a lil more on it, and work thru most of the same holes...
