New bars...
#1
Hello:
I have now gotten me a set of Renthal Raptor 660 bend bars for my quad. I love them!!! They feel SOOOO much better than my old bars. I also got me a set of scott comp2 grips to complement my new bars. I have some new pics of my warrior with the new bars and grips on my pic page. Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Jack.

I was thinking about getting a set of the raptor bend bars, because my cheap moose bars are a little twisted. How does the raptor bend compare to the stock bend? Higher or lower? Swept back more or less? It's hard to tell from that picture.

The renthals are higher up, wider, and do not sweep back as far as the stock bars. They make me sit in a more upright position with my arms more straight out instead of bent. I went on a short 6 mile ride yesterday and I could tell instantly that the quad was WAY more coshy than before. I felt more relaxed and had no lower back pain like before. The quad also seemed to handle better and be much easier to control than before. I think you would realy enjoy them. they make the warrior's strange ergonomics feel way better.
Try this, go to a dealer, sit on a new raptor 350 (their bars have the same bend as the renthals I have) and get a good feel for them. Then imagine if the seat was lower (like the warrior) and that will give you a general idea of the feel of them. I love them and I think that you would like them too. I am 6' tall and I fit great on the warrior now with the new bars. the old ones made it feel a bit cramped.
Hope this helps
Jack.

Thanks man, they sound like the perfect thing for me. I'm about 6' also, so we're about the same size. The bars I have now are a pretty low bend, so it makes me ride a little bit hunched over, and i don't stand up any more than I absolutely have to because i can't stand up straight because the bars are too low.
If you don't mine me asking, how much did you spend on the renthals? I don't really know which brand i'm getting yet, but it'll definitely be a decent set of aluminum bars, no more cheapos.

I think i'm going to go with Pro Taper SE's in the Raptor bend. I don't know why, but i've just never been a fan of renthal stuff. Probably because the company is more geared towards dirt bikes than quads.
I definitely want to keep the same kind of grips that I have now, ProGrip 964's, they're friggin awesome. I don't think i'd ever buy another set of scott grips, every set I ever had turned my hands black, left blisters, and wore out really quick. I never had comp2's, but I'll just stick with what I know works.

I went with the renthals because I have had other bikes with them and I loved them, They are almost indestructable. I went with them based on my past experience with them and ther great name in the business. I have heard great things about the pro taper SE's as well, but I have never owned a set nor has anyone I know. So therefore, I just went with the renthals because I know they are great bars.
As far as the scott grips, the origional Hurricane grips sucked. I had a set of them on my 300ex and they left the black stuff on my hands (and they were red grips... go figure ) and wore out very quick. I then put on a set of the comp2's and I loved them. they are very cushy and did not leave black stuff on my hands like the old hurricane's did. I had the comp2's on that quad for almost a year and when I lost her they still looked like new. So based on my experience with them, I decided to go with the comp2's on my warrior.
Most parts people run on their quads are purchased because of past expeirences or personal preference. Thats why I say if you find something that works for you, go for it. the only person that knows what you like is you, and the best way to find out what works for you is to try out different things until you find what you like.
