OEM skid plate (bruin)

Anyone else have a bruin that has the Yamaha aluminum bash plate and engine/frame skid? I went to change my oil on my bruin and found out that I would have to take off my skid plate in order to due so... This makes no sense, why would Yamaha make a skid plate (aluminum add-on) that needs to be removed to do such a simple task as a oil change?
I'm wondering if this is why they no longer show it on their genuine accessories page? However they still show the front bash plate, which you have to cut your stock plastic skid in order to install because the stock plastic bash and engine skid are one piece...There are holes cut out in the skid, that go no where, must have been a goof design. I guess in the spring I will change my oil since I don't feel like taking my plow mount off either. I will have to cut a hole in the skid plate so I don't have to take it off again...
So am I the only one that bought the Yamaha aluminum skid plates for the bruin?
