Short story, I've been out of it a while but I bought me a yfz 450 and I'm looking for a quad for my 16 yr old son. I found an 02 raptor 660 and an 05 raptor 350. I can get both for the same price and both are in good shape with low hours. I know the 660 is a lot of bike for him but I can tune it down with the throttle limiter on the top end. Which bike should I get for him. Pro and Cons of both THANKS.

 

Nobody has an opinion? Is there problems with the 02 660 that would justify going with the new 05 350 even though it's less power or vise versa? I need to decide within the next couple of hours.

 

660 is the way to go, hands down

 

Ok, thanks for the reply. That's the way I was leaning. Just wasn't sure about getting an 02 model.

 

Raptor is easier to ride.. my 13 year old handles it pretty well.

 

Get the 660. You can keep it a while and won't have to resale later or upgrade for more power.

 

The 02 and up models are fine, the ones you want to stay away from are the 01 models with transmission issues.

 

Thanks for the info. I had heard there were problems with some but was not sure what years. I guess I'll get the 660 so as soon as he gets good enough he has a better chance of keepin up with me
