Default Clutch probems

On my 03 660 I look at the end of the cable where it goes into the casing I see that when I pull the lever, the lever moves about half way in and the end of the cable where the casing is it moves a bit. But i don't feel any tension on the lever. Once I pull the lever all the way into the handle bars i feel the tension. But when i let go it lever only springs back half way i have to push it back the rest of the way.

If I adjust the cable at all it the clutch slips. Unless i'm just adjusting it wrong not to sure. Some times when i start it the bike wants to roll a bit with the clutch pulled in. Like i can feel it just kinda chuggin, or i have to hold the brake when i start it in gear cause it wants to roll ahead. I would like it set so that when i pull the lever it doesnt have to go all the way to the handle bars that way i can just use 2 fingers to shift.

I also have a hard time getting into gear and especially into nutral. Is my clutch almost done? and if so what clutch would be the best? im a very aggessive rider.

Thank for the help

they can fray inside, if only a few strains of cable are still intact it can act like your symptoms you have

first undo the cable at both ends and pull the cable and see if it moves easy

So pull on the cable to see if it moves through the casing with out friction or binding?
