Default Can this winch be rebuilt?

Not sure where to post this, but it came on a yamaha so ill try here lol. Can this warn A2000 be rebuilt reasonably? I've already replaced it so if I can't easily fix it its fine, but I can use it somewhere if it can be fixed. Any ideas?

I can't seem to get the end cap off. Is there a mystery bolt holding it on, or is it just corroded that badly? It should just fall off, correct?

Rebuild won't be cheap either and then how well will it work. I'd get a new one personally.

Well I've already replaced it with a 2500 mile marker and I have a couple extras laying around. I was just wondering if this one could be saved.

Ok got some pics:

The motor:

The end cap:

I removed the two bolts on the end that hold the motor on, and then tried to pry the cap off but it wouldn't budge. I think it should separate just to the right of the top and bottom electrical posts, on the seam pictured above. I even loosened the posts themselves and it still wouldn't budge. Any ideas?
