Please help me figure ths out!

That's the one we had. Don't know about the amperage difference on the batteries. It may work, but I don't know how well the wires will take it.

It WORKED!! You guys are the best!! Now, in terms of what you were talking about above, the wires handling and everything....well, Im not sure about that either so it may just flame out within the first 5 mins or so? Is that what would happen? I dont want it blowing up in my kid's face or something! Lol.. I guess the next step is to figure out the amperage that the quad can handle, and then see if the battery has that?? Thoughts?

It may work with no problems at all. I have seen them converted to run on 24v batteries.
Was mentioned before, you might want to invest in a trickle charger to keep it charged up when they're not riding. Heck, that battery may give them longer rides than the original one did.

Our babysitter said her husband wired one up like you have it...she said that it went faster and the battery lasted longer, but that if the kids rode for an extended amount of time the electric motor would get hot and stop working until it cooled off again! My son doesn't have the attention span to ride his for more than about ten minutes at a time, but the kid you are referencing is older so it may be an issue...I don't think however that it is going to blow up on him!!
