Kodiac????

The hand lever works for the reverse as well on the Kodiak. You don't have to use brake for high and low range. Unlike Polaris, you can ride in high all the time and not worry about the belt. Using the brake to put into reverse/park becomes second nature after a day of riding. The parking brake locks all four wheels and is the best design I've seen. On extreme down hills, you usually don't have to hit the brake at all due to the engine brake in the front wheels in low range. No probs at all in 1000 hard miles except for rear pad at 700 miles.

I am curiuos as to why the brake application would bother you. It seems to me that it is there to keep you from switching gears while you are moving. Thus, preventing possible serious damage to the transmission and or clutch. Don't be skeptical, it is a great machine and after a few hours of riding, it becomes second nature. I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

I completely removed the lock-out cable from mine, and jumpered out the hand brake switch. So now I can shift without depressing the brake or pulling in the lever. I can "kill" the motor while in gear, & restart it in any gear and continue on without having to move the shifter or pull in the brakes.

140 main jet is a very large one. What is the clip postition on? What type of air filter are you running? And tell me about the muffler mod. I have a 134 in mine "the biggest in the kit" and the clip on the 4th slot. I had it on the 6th slot and it ran a little rich because sometimes I lug it around. Like I said 140 is large are you running rich or what?
