I recently installed a Toomey racing clutch in my 94 banshee.

I first had to experiment with the super stiff springs. I came up with a 50/50 arrangement; (half stock half kit). The kit recommended to eliminate the rubber rings that go in between the friction plates, so I did. After ensuring that the alignment marks were aligned I put it together.

The new clutch did not shift correctly and you could not get neutral. I took it apart 3 times, to ensure everything was right but no success.

I think because I eliminated the rubber rings, it’s throwing off the alignment adjustment. Has anybody had the same experience or can offer some suggestions.

Hey steve I have a question did you adjust the cluth free play correctly?? When you put a new clutch on Banshee's and Blasters, The clutc has to be readjusted in the motor! YOu know the small nut and phillips head adjuster on the out side of the cluth Hub. You need to adjust the cluth there by looseing it and making sure all free play is out of cluth at the lever. Then you look at the clutch arm on top of the cases just below carbs.. You will see a little arrow on the end of the arm then an arrow on the case, Line both those marks up by adjusting the adjuster on the clutch hub,and then tighten it akk down. Nad then you adjust the free play at the lever. And that is it.
