Has anyone changed their Raptor jets without removing the carbs?

Hi Lorrin,

Vickery Motorsports set my Raptor up for Colorado with 130/135 mains and the clip position in #3 from the top and the thin washer on the bottom of the needle. I've been told that this makes the needle position 3 1/2. The air screws were both out one turn. On my machine that is still rich. I installed the CT Racing air box weekend before last and the 130/135 mains proved to be perfect which is another indication that it was rich before I started.

ChrisMac is correct, the carbs should be two sizes apart. Five being two sizes.

Going in from the bottom sounds great unless you have to adjust the needles as well as the jets. If you ever go in through the top let me know which you prefer.

Hey garyc660R,

Sorry it has taken so long to reply, but between camping, putting an extended swing-arm on the quad, and watching the Stanley Cup finals I haven't been on the forum for a while.

To answer your question, I have not had my carbs blow off. I've followed the adivce I've read here and I keep the idle above 1350. I recently put in 25 pilot jets, just in case that helps. I've ordered some 27.5's and the next time I work on the carbs they are going in.

Sorry, but I don't have the answer. I think I'm just lucky so far.
