I'm going to purchase the Elka triple rate front shocks for my Raptor, I was just wondering how important is it to get the rear shocks? Can I get by for now with just the front, will there be a BIG difference? Right now I keep bottoming out before I hit the jump. Will this take care of this problem? How will it act with the stock shocks on the rear?

check e-mail...

In short, the front Elkas do perform much better than the fronts. It is by no means unbearable, but I was required to adjust my setting of my rear in order to keep up with the fronts. Another option you have on the rear Yamaha shock is to have a qualified person re-work it. If I were buying new shocks, I'd want to buy them from a dealer who was able to do that as well.

That's a nice lookin' Raptor Bash! The XCT's look really good on there, as well as everything else. The linkage flip with the XCT's raises ground clearance but keeps the quad low eh? Cool.

Fourlix,

Yep, it works nicely without the associated problems such as bottoming that others have reported.
I'm sad to say that I'm very seriously thinking about selling it since I never seem to find time to ride it. It's a shame that it looks so good and goes so little. The poor thing has been sitting in my building waiting for a good ride for months!

Bash,

You are right, I feel the same way about my machine, but I have no time to ride. I will be installing my new exhaust this weekend. Hopefully, I will have more time to ride next month. I have to start taking my vacation time at work.

Skyler and I are headed for the Dunes north of Bowie, AZ. We are all loaded up, I'm waiting for him to get home from school and we're off.
My 4 year old has been "helping me" get packed all day, but he doesn't get to go. He and mom will stay home. He is going to be so bummed.
..... I sure wish they could go. Maybe the Raptorette will be done for X-mas. I wish my wife would go to, but even with our pop-up slide- in, this is roughing it too much for her. If there were other girls going she might think about it.....Grizzly stays home too.
.... It's an all boy barbeque with the boys from Sierra Vista, AZ, Eric, Eric and Tom, whom I met on this Forum and rode with when they came up here this summer. We're meeting halfway with this one, only 2 hours away, I've never been there. In fact I'd never heard of it before this year, and first heard of it right here on this forum.... my back yard,,,almost..It is in Arizona so how could I be expected to know about it? (AZ border is about 30 miles)
For Those Who Are About To RIDE,,,WE SALUTE YOU!!!
For the rest of you guys who are staying home this weekend,,there's always next weekend....
