If speed is what you consider to be what you want with a utility 4 wheeler than I guess yes the Kawasaki will be the best. I still can not figure out why speed and having the fastest Utility 4 wheeler is so important. If I want speed I will ride something fast not a utility 4 wheeler. I think the Yamaha, Polaris and the future Honda with IRS will beat the non IRS in snow, mud and rocks and they will do it in comfort that is what is most important to me and I think a lot of other people.
The 4-wheel ATV Action Magazine missed when it compared the Grizzly against the 650 Kawasaki people don't buy these utility 4 wheeler to race they buy them to go Camping, Hunting trail riding and work but the whole reason the Kawasaki won that shootout was because it was a littler faster not considering the Yamaha would ride softer out climb it go through deeper snow and mud.
I think what ever utility 4 wheeler is the fastest the ATV magazines will rate the best which I think is stupid I can see that in a sport quad but not a utility quad.

I suggest re-reading the articles. The reason the 650 beat the 660 is because it is a little better in almost every category. IRS isn't everything. The fact that the 660 had irs helped, but it still wasn't enough to beat the kawi in all other categories.
Seems like so many people keep questioning why drag races are done. The reason is because it gives us some idea of power. Slap some 28" outlaws on a 660 and 650 and you'll see that the 650 has an easier time spinning them. When they do these shootouts, they keep the bikes stock and don't put aftermarket tires on like most customers do. So instead they do drag races and hillclimbs to compare 'real life' torque and hp and power.
For some people, IRS and ground clearance is a must. So the 660 is the obvious choice. For others, the 650 is the better choice.
I'm a honda person myself. If they add front disc brakes and put a locker on the rincon I'll be the first in line for one. But if they don't, then forget it.
