I have a 91 Banshee with 105 compression on both cylinders. Here is my problem. The right side will foul out a new plug within 30 seconds. Wet plug. I have changed carburator, coil, have good spark to the plug and the jetting is at factory. I live at approx. 500 - 800 ft. elevation. The left side doesn't have a problem and runs fine. I realize that the compression is low but they are both exactly the same. Could carb. synchronization be part of the problem? I am going broke buying plugs. Any ideas or thoughts would be welcome. I have a manual so can figure out the synch. method but would like some input. I have a habit of doing everything else before actually getting to the problem area and would like to start at the problem to begin with for a change. Thx for your help in advance.

It sounds like the little black rubber hose running from the main crab to to the second carb has fallen off. If you look at the carb that has the pull out for the choke just on the other side of it there should be a black hose connecting the two carbs together. If it has fallen off the left carb will not function right. Left as if you are sitting on the quad. The hose actually turns the choke on for the second carb. If it is there make sure it has no cracks in it or it is blocked in any way.
Good luck

Thanks..This may be the problem, however it is the right side cylinder that is giving me the problem. However, I have had the right side carb off several times and if there is a hose there, it must at the least be disconnected because I haven't seen it and would believe that it is not there at all. Would this affect the RIGHT side as well? Seems likely to me that it may be choking it all the time if this is the case. This is a big help. Respond if you get time.. Thx..Dean Wilken

The hose wasn't even there so put on a new one. Didn't make any difference even tho I think it should have. New plug, way to rich for some reason. Almost as if the choke is on all the time. Same question still..Could it be the synchronization? Thx for your help. Dean

I had this problem with the original carb and replaced it with another, but it acts exactly the same. I replaced the carb from the cap down. I kept the cap and the original Tors, which would make me think that the problem may lay up there somewhere. The carb I put on was definitely good. Almost same as new. I will just have to take the time to check the synchronization. I won't have time to do that until after Thanksgiving. It could be out of sync pretty bad. My problem is that this is the first Banshee I have had with the original carbs and Tors on it. The other two had been converted to 2 into 1 intake with a Keihen carb. So I'm not sure exactly how much the sync can affect the running of the machine because I don't know that much about it. Any ideas or knowledge will be greatly appreciated. Have a good Thanksgiving everyone and thanks for your help...Dean
