SilverBear, those claws will go great in the snow. Only drawback I've found is that my back end will slide out sideways a bit sometimes on a badly side-sloped ski-doo trail. The fronts always pull me through though so it hasn't been a big deal. The tread pattern on the 27" TriClaws is a little different than my 25s, a little less open I think, so maybe that won't happen at all.
I think you'll be very happy with them. I am.

Andy, What's the difference in offset between your new wheels and the stockers? I'm wondering how much change in width it took to make that much of a difference to stability?

YukonRon,

Thanks for the info...I'm really looking forward to the Claws and can't wait to try them in the snow....I'm also interested in how much offset the new rims provide compared to the stockers.

Happy Holidays!

Pretty big difference. Maybe 3-4" in the rear with the 12" tires and all. It made a massive difference though. My ITP rims are the normal offset. They just happen to be offset a lot compared to stockers. ITP makes another offset rim that would make the quad extremely wide. Probably to the point that you would regret buying them.

I didn't have any aluminum on the AC. Just the plastic skid it came with. It held up good, but its a lot better than what Yamaha gives you. I had Oxlite guards up front and they were the shiznit. Other than that, all I had on that quad was wheels, tires, kimpex bumpers and a rack extension.

Andy, YukonRod, 660Grizz & everyone else who has helped with this decision (title of thread)

I ordered from E Kentucky Motorsports today my big wheel kit.

Mud Machines 27"X12"x12" Tri Claws rear, 27"x9.5"x12" Bi Claws Front, mounted on ITP magnum billet aluminum rims. Total price $765.00 (including the $50.00 shipping). They said they'll try to have them shipped out today, by monday at the latest, and I should have them by next friday. I'm really impressed with the prices these guys offer. He asked where I found them, and I told them their name was given out on the atvconnection forum. I was the fourth person to order tires/wheels from them this week that said the same thing.

'Course, now comes the hard part...waiting....

Thanks again, and Happy Holidays!

SilverBear, please keep us posted on the results once you get some ride time on those tires.
Hope you get them on for the holidays.
Happy riding.
