Jetting with Yosh full system UPDATE!!!! New Questions
#32
Well I rode today with the 146/148 combo and the airbox lid on, no top end at all!!! I took off the lid and had tons of top end but was lacking in the bottom end. I called Dynojet back and they said I should leave the mains and go to the 3rd clip on the needle to lean out the mid-range, which makes sence so far, has anyone else tried this???? He also said that it is normal for my pipe to turn purple, it is stainless. Yoshimura had a paper with it that said a purple or blue tint was a lean condition, but he says it is fine, what do you think about that??? One more question, if I lower the needle one, and run with no lid, should I just go back to the 148/150 main combo?? or stay at 146/148?? Thanks for all the help guys...

Hey raptorridr,
I would go back to a 148 150 combo, take your lid off , and move the clip to the 2nd or 3rd position from the top to lean out the bottom and mid end. Dynojet says the problem is with running the lid off, you need the fatter main jet for the top end but you need to raise the clip position to lean out the bottom end where the air velocity into the air box is not as high.
I thought you said you were running lean with the 148/150. What made go back to the 146/148?

Well I tried running the spec that came with the kit, lid ON and 146/148, But it sucked, the lid is gone again now I am going to put the 148 and 150 in tomorrow and go to the 3rd clip, think that will work?? what about fuel screws, stay at 3 turns out?? I can see that the lid on is not the way to go unless your riding conditions won't allow it, way better with out it, I just hope that the 148/150 combo is enough with the needle in the 3rd clip....

I think it should work. I would stay 3 turns out. Aren't you below 1000 ft? I am at 750 ft. Also if your pipes are blue, I think that is a lean condition. But once they turn blue, I think they will remain blue. My pipes stayed a nice golden color with the 148 150 and the lid off.
