Been awhile since I posted a thread, been having puter problems. My worthless Dunlops are giving out on the rear. I am still running the original rims, I know the original tire size, but I think I want to get Goodyear Mudrunners, or Titan 589's, and when I was checking out prices, I noticed that neither of the tires comes in the original size. I am wondering what size I should get to replace the originals and run the same rims without any fitment issues. The original size is 25 10 10.

To be honest with you...you can up the size depending on the brand. From what i have seen (without modifying bike/plastic) Muddrunners 27", Titan's 27". If you choose to go 27", make sure to stiffen the struts in the back. It will keep the bike from squatting and possible rubs. Depending on how you ride.

The reason i say brand is because even when you purchase 27" tires, they dont always measure that. ITP 589's are a good tire as well as the Titans, but for the money, you might want to check out the Dirt Devils too. They ride just as good and mud just as good, just a better price. One quick note....the DD's are 6-ply if that matters to you.

Are you planning on changing the tires yourself? If so, make sure that you SEAT the tire all the way!!! or you will have a slight-to-moderate wobble with them.

I don't really want to go with 27" tires, I ride double quite often, and for the type of riding I do, the chances of them rubbing would be pretty good. I probably will take the tires to have them put on. Thanks though

C'mon you guys, somebody give me some help.

I have 27" 589 mt's on my 00 grizz with no lift and have never experienced any fender rubbing. I did however have to run spacers up front as the mt's have the rim gaurd that sticks out past the rim and it rubbed the struts. and those are the 9.5's on the front. Oh, and if you have a 2000 grizzly, it came with stock with 12 inch rims, not ten. only the 98's came with ten inch rims and they were just on the rear.

I was going to purchase the mudrunners but decided to go with the goodyear rawhide grips. I love these tires. Smooth ride aggressive tread good all around tire. The size is 25x8x12 and 25x11x12 They are much better than the stock dunlops

Goodyear does make the MudRunners in the stock tire size. I bought a pair of stock size Mudrunners (not run flats) and like them very much. They are 4 ply and you need a little bit more momentum on rocky uphills since the stiffer sidewall don't flex around the rocks as well as the stock Dunlops. They are great in the mud and the stiffer sidewall eliminates the front end diving in corners at speed. I love my Grizzly 660 and the Mudrunners definately make a good difference.

Yeah, I checked and realized that the tires were 12's, not 10's. It was a misprint in my service manual that said 10". I measured one though. I still have to stick with 25's though, cause I only want to replace the rear tires for now, or with only replacing the rears cause problems? The front tires still have lots of tread, I've just smoked the rear ones right off.

well, i'll tell you this. my 27's didn't measure a full 27 until i pumped about 18 psi into them which makes for a pretty rough ride. if you get 25's they may not measure exactly what your fronts do and you may have to go higher or lower than the suggested pressure to get them even. BUT, as long as its close and you don't drive on any pavement in 4wd it won't even be an issue.
