I put my raptor together tonight and when I tryed to start it up it would turn over a little and then the single black wire in the harness started to smoke, i t does start it I pull start it so what could be wrong?

 

It sounds like you don't have a good ground connection from the battery.

Make sure your wiring is right, I assume you had the motor out?

When hooking all the plugs back up at the back end of the tank I believe there is a white set and black set that will plug black/white and white/black

Make sure they are black/black and white/white

I aint 100% sure, but its something to check

 

The harness right by the air box its a small black wire that plugs it right where everything else plugs together

 

did you put the ground back on the block?

 

ya at first I thought that was the problem so I cleaned it off and it seemed a little bettter but not good enough

 

how long has your motor been down?? i had mine down for a month and
need a charger to get it started the 12/1 dosent help much either

 

I fixed this problem it was a bad ground
