Default Motor oil? Good? Bads? Help!

hey tundraotto.. You say the Fram uses cardboard for it's bypass valve. What is this and how does it work. I didn't know oil filters were this complicated . What are the bypass valves normally made of.

I have ran everything in my Raptor.
Maxima 15w-50, Valvoline Synthetic, Quaker State Semi and full synthetics, Mobil 1, Pennzoil....you name it. I currently have Quaker State Semi-Synthetic 10w-30 Truck oil in my Raptor....which is a little thin for the warmer weather.

i use yamaha filter and yamalube so far. I might try that AtV engine oil i think valvoline makes. One thing i always try to do it go with the thicker oil for better protection. One thing u gotta remember, if you go on the thicker side, always warm up that engine or your really gonna strain things. Good luck
Right now im using 10-40 and it workin great. In the summer ill prob go to 20-50. In the manual it tell you what viscosity oil to use at what temperatures.

Give it a look. good luck and happy riding , warrior
