Went camping over the weekend and the yamoto 150 worked real well for the wife. Only bummer was the battery went dead and it needed to be kick started. Only took a half hearted kick to fire it up, even when cold. No problems with the carb/choke this weekend and it was colder than the quad has been used to. The wife now definitely wants a twist throttle put on it, says she hates the thumb throttle. Must be all those years on a dirt bike. I will most likely have to make up a custom cable to pull that off. Any one here put a twist throttle on their yamoto 150?

I have a crack in the rubber housing on the air intake. If your engine races and doesn't idle correctly then I would check this. I temporarily fixed it with super glue and RTV silicone until I get the new part. You also can hear it. Sounds like a vacuum leak. Just passing info along.
I am also going to weld a piece of steel between the nerf bars and the frame on both sides. Mine are very weak and bend fairly easily.

Those rubber air intakes that link the carb to the engine really are very poor quality rubber. Both of those ripped on my two 150's. I have since wrapped them in electrical tape since silicon or RTV WILL NOT bond them together. I have done this several times. You have to be sure to wrap it gently (not tight) around the split rubber, otherwise it makes it's way into the crack in the rubber.
Still, very poor. The chinese rubber is characteristically poor in handling the weather, in that it routinely cracks. The real pain is that whenever this crucial part fails, it is a paint to get to because you have to take aprart the front end and remove the gas tank and carb to replace / service it.

Has anyone had any problems with wobbly wheels? Out of the box, both of my Yamoto 150's have a front tire that wobbles as if the bearing pressed into it is not straight. I know its not from any damage I've done because this is something that I've noticed right after assembly...

The problem I noticed with mine is the bolts are not centered and the carb sits on there crooked. Basically, when you put the air cleaner assembly back on you have to pull the carb assembly to the left and this broke the rubber housing. Mine is cracked near the bolt hole so it's very hard to get to with electrical tape.
Also, one of the engine mounts broke right near the berf bar. I had a problem with this bolt working loose so I put something else in their to strengthen it and I just noticed it broke off the casting and at the frame. I assume just from the torque of the motor. It's not ridden very hard.

On my wifes yamoto it is the cable brackett that hits the frame and pushes the carb to the left. I bent the cable bracket in a little bit and ground away part of it to help it clear the frame. it now sits pretty straight and doesnt stress the rubber as much.
