Default Yamoto 150cc Review

Guys the 2005 Yamoto's have been improved. As John has mentioned the suspension has the dual A-Arms. I will be getting one soon and will report on how it feels. As with any quad or dirtbike you need to go over all the bolts and make sure they are tight and lock-tite the ones that are loose.

DirtForAShirt........great review. This is the kind of stuff that helps folks like myself decide which atv to buy. Could you tell me who the dealer is that you bought your Yamoto from? I live about 100 miles east of you and looking hard for someone to buy from. According to the Yamoto distributor, the nearest "registered" dealer is over 200 miles away. I would rather not have to drive that far just to see one of these up close. To purchase from any other dealers, they will have to ship the atv to a mechanics shop of other type of motorcycle dealer which will cost even more......kinda stupid. I'm really interested in the Yamoto but it seems more of a hassle to get one than the Kazuma or others. The purpose of buying one of these Chinese atv's is to keep the cost down.

The dealership tells me one thing and then yamoto sends me specs that looked the exact same as the 150cc. I am so confused. I know spending 2600 bucks on two atvs is a lot less then for the name brands but it is still 2600 bucks. Just want some feedback before I put the money down. Thanks

I have (ridden an Akuma 200cc)! My opinion is they are not made for grown-ups. To put things in perspective the 200 is the same size as the 150, the same as the 110 and the same as the 90! Here is my review: http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...hreadid=448299

Can anyone tell me if the Suzukie 160 A arm's will fit on the 2004 Yamato 150cc? If not, do you know of another brand that will?

The Ya-moto must be a knock off of Yamoto. It will be quite different. With that said Yamoto is improving, especially the warranty. Patriot Motorcycle is distributing Yamoto, and working with the Yamoto factory to correct issues. Patriot Motorcycle is pumping lots of money into advertising and setting up a dealer infrastructure. The Yamoto 200 is a new model this year with liquid cooling and a manual clutch, 4 speed plus reverse, chain drive also. This bike looks interesting but it is around $2200 from a dealer all setup. The bike is similar to a Yamaha Blaster 200cc which goes for $3300. I havn't seen one up close yet, but I will, and when I report back on my 2005 ATV150 I will post some about the ATV200 as well. It is going to be interesting to see what happens with Yamoto. Has anyone ridden any of the new 2005 Yamotos, Knarf

If you guys have any suggestions on improvments that can be made to any yamoto products please tell me. I am at the owners house of yamoto/patriot about 4 - 5 days a week.

Wr,

I've had the yamoto 110 for six months now, and here's my 2c:

1. MAKE THEM LIGHTER! I took it to the dunes and it was just too heavy!

2. Softer suspension. I think all will agree!

3. Better quality control on assembly (have them invest in lots of LOC-TITE!)

4. Owners / service / maint manual! - since there's no Yamoto dealer in every town, supply us a DETAILED manula so we can take care of our own.

5. I think other will give you more.

and most of all, have them figure out how to have DEMO DAYS. have them rent out a spot at HUNGRY VALLEY SRVA (an off road area) then organize to have several dozen of thier products for people to come out and try! I'm going to be buying a 250cc+ quad for my daughter and wife very soon. It will NOT be a Yamoto unless I can spend at least 10 minutes on one. I've tried my friend's Honda and Suzuki quads and know what to expect.

I have many more ideas for them if they want to penetrate an already dense market. I used to do it for a living. PM me.

Default Yamoto 150cc Review

Hey guys I am a new Yamoto Dealer near Charlotte NC. I have put together all the quads with the exception of the 250 . Everyone has valid points here. Patriot has been good to me with response and parts. I have had good luck with the 50, 70, 110 and the 200. The 50 and 70 went together really well. The 110 and the 200 were a bit tougher (mostly minor stuff that is time consuming) but eventually all went well with them. I wouldn't recommend buying one "drop ship" unless you have a dealer to put together. Dealers have contacts at Patriot/Yamoto when an issue arises. I am not saying the guys on this forum are not good mechanics but after you put together many of them they go together better and you know what to look for. All these bikes have redesigned front suspension with dual A-Arms. In my opinion the shocks are soft enough in the front. I have been riding/racing dirtbikes for 30 years. I have had several people demo them who are seasoned ATV riders. I got a big thumbs up on the ATV 200 in regards to handling and power. They all came with a bottle of blue thread locker. I had to go over many nuts and bolts then run them some and see where I missed. The rear end bolts (chain adjust lockdown bolts not the little adjusters) on the 200 have to be very tight or the chain adjustment will change. Also a bolt in the chain guard needed to be changed to a lower profile head to keep from rubbing on the chain. Bikes with drives shafts like the 110 need to have the gear oil checked at both ends of the shaft, topped off or changed. The 2004 model oils should be changed. Use Hypoid 90 gear oil in the rear end. The New 150 ATV has a front shock problem and will not be sold until it is corrected. Patriot is standing behind the product and has many people working on this issue. Aside from that the 150 is quite nice and once the front end issue is corrected it should be great for somebody that doesn't want to shift. I clocked the 150 at 30mph on my GPS on a flat road and it probably had a little more but I need to get the front end corrected before anymore riding on that one. One other thing I noticed was the batteries were of the sealed variety which was nice not having to deal with the acid. I am planning an outing with all the ATVs except the 150 this weekend, I have riders for all the machines and we will cover some ground. I will report back on the pros and cons. I have demo days anytime on about an acre. These ATVs are pretty nice, however they are for entry level to intermediate riders. Check my website or give me a call. I have a showroom and will be opening up a bigger place in a month. Sincerely, Knarf http://www.lakenormanatv.com
