Thanks for the warm welcome. I have finally got everything put together. I picked up a few metric odds and ends but I was unable to find a metric castle nut for the tie rod. I hope Tim comes through on this. I called him and let him know about the damage. I have taken some pics of the damage and will email them to him so I'll let you all know how it turns out. I must say I had an interesting time starting her up. I wasn't sure what was what. I was expecting a handle throttle and not a lever. The paperwork that came with the atv described a reverse lever on the right handle bar. Also the choke initially alluded me but once I figured it out everything ran great! I purchased a red and black atv. I used goobegone to remove the residual tape glue and then I waxed her up. It has been between -21 and -1 up here in MN so I will wait for a little warmer weather to get outside for a run. I have 2 questions

1 Which bolt/nuts should I blue loctite ?
2 How long should I wait to change oil ?

I hope to get some pics on after I return home next weekend from visiting my folks in AZ.

Hi,its cold here in Mo. too I feel you pain....
You should change your oil befor starting it.The oil that is in those bikes is worthless.I don't think you will do any harm by just a quick start up run after assembly but I would get that stuff befor any more starts.
As far as loctite,I did the the bolt and screws that attach to the frame.I wouldnt suggest doing the body screws.

Hi drdage, I would loctite ALL nuts/bolts. Don't over/under torque. I ran mine at idle for 30 minutes 1st oil change. Ran 1 hour no more than 1/4 throttle 2nd oil change. Next 4 hours no more than 1/2 throttle then oil change. Next 8 hours no more than 3/4 throttle then oil change. now every 10 to 20 hours avoiding full throttle for 20 hours. I use Rottela 15w40. if you run mainly cold weather 20s 30s you can try Rottela 5w40 syn. turns over eazyer. Use 30 1/2 oz. oil. I change using the 24mm side drain and clean the filter screen every time.

Let me know if you need torque specs and i'll put up a list.

Done,dead tired and gone-Buyingchina

forgot this; actual motor and hydraulic blts should be ok. no locktite, just check them t in case they missed one. loctite wheel bolts! front 20 ft lbs. rear 35 ft lbs. remove nuts from body bolts add just a small amount of loctite inside nut, do not get any on plastic, rubber or paint.

Hello I just bought a 250cc from v-bikes it seems to be a pretty good quad I had to replace a few bolts that were striped probably someone got a little carried away with a air wrench when they first put it together for testing and i put a new fuse holder on it the one that comes on it is very cheap that cost about 5 bucks I had a problem with it blowing the fuse everytime you hit the light switch but tim at vbikes told me how to fix that just unplug the tail fight and fix the pin connecter that solved that my daughter had a ball on it last weekend I took it out on the local creek and rode the hills and played in the water and mud I also like the ssr brand go to mxmotorsports.us and check them out they are built just like the vbikes they cost about the same I,m going to order the ssr 300cc this week for me I have rode tat quad right here in my town there is a guy selling then but I can get it cheaper online well thats my story
