You need to find a mechanic in your area that will disassemble the clutch pack for you and give you a few days to find the part.

Im wondering if that shop(that has the 400) knows their clutch plates wont fit..Or just assumes they wont fit...I mean if they havnt taken the clutch cover off and looked at the clutch...How could they know they wont fit?

lowbudget, What a mess your situation has turned into..

Good grief I thought you said they took it apart and said the yamaha plates don't fit. So really they have done nothing for you so far. I know the angle they are using they don't want to fool around with it unless they have the Jianhe packaged part on the bench. It's really too bad you don't have a small engine repair shop by you that would take the side cover off for you to see whats up. Or do you have a friend or relative with some mechanical know how an some tools that could lend you a hand?

Yes, I am screwed if EBAY doesn't check out the forum thread link or the link to ripoffreport.com that shows more of the emails between myself and Tank-Sports. Only thing I can do right now is spread the word about Tank-Sports and the atv issues (1700+ hits on the thread so far - Not bad guys!) Also with 193 replies to this thread as of now there is alot of valuable info being spread in this thread so potential buyers so not make the same mistake I did

Dont get your hopes up....eBay is worthless. They are making money off these people....and plenty of it, the eBay Motors fees are BIG. On top of that they arent likely to go the extra mile for you. The auction says parts only.....and as long as these jokers keeping sending you parts (good or bad) and producing tracking numbers then eBay is likely to be happy. Ive dealt with eBay a few times, it takes them forever to help when its a clear cut case - such as someone scamming hundreds of people at the same time.....if your waiting for them to get you out of this jam your likely to die first....but probably not from a bad ATV accident (silver lining there).

Yep. just repeating others. If they don't have the part in hand they really have no idea of the exact replacement part or for that matter know exactly what is the real problem.

@lowbudget - hang in there. maybe eBay will not resolve your issue but you have several other paths; hunt down the individuals, pursue via Cal DMV occupational licensing. Maybe Better Business Bureau.

One way or another you need to find the exit door on this house of mirrors.

Do you have ANY contact that is in Socal? If someone walks in the door, assuming they are open, you might get a better idea of what is going on in general and with your specific situation.

I don't have any contacts in the Socal area. I am hoping today DMV returns my call from yesterday. I left a message with the investigations department yesterday explaining the situation. If they are like most DMV's I will not hear from them for a month. My brother is trying to get the paperwork he needs to to send the written complaint letter into but has had no luck either recieving a call back or speaking to someone in person at South El Monte Motor Vehicle. I guess I just wait now and see what happens. I'm going to get the rear differential/suspension back together tonight and possibly take it out for a test ride later. It's been real cold here in CT lately so I may wait til this weekend to test everything. I had to retap the mounting screws that tighten the handlebar controls to the handlebars. It looked like they installed them with a screw gun or drill. They stripped the hell out of one side and mangled the phillips head end. That's about the only part that is not useless that they sent to me but then again it's used and was damaged. The headlight switch actually works though

yupp. well i asked them earler ( acouple of days after i droped it off) if they had a clutch that fit and they said they didnt. so i asumed that they took it apart. but the other day i went down there to ask a couple questions and they said they never took it apart they just like held the back tires or somthing so they know that it is the clutch. they will take it apart if i want them to. but i will have to pay.

What is the shop rate at this dealer?? As I'd hate to see these guys soak you a few hundred bucks labor to replace a $45.00 clutch pack. Maybe this is not the place to get it worked on. Is there some other places handy you could take it to?

Maybe you need to get one of these YAMAHA BIG BEAR 400 ATV MODELS REPAIR SERVICE MANUAL on eBay.ca (item 180445629793 end time 17-Dec-09 18:48:34 EST) and see if you and someone can take it apart yourself.
