Incompetent - Wrong word. Something very bad is going on. I figured if they moved they were still afloat. One could argue the reason they move is because they are going under. Guess it could go either way.

What is odd is their parts website is really quite complete and "looks" better than most. It took a lot of effort to get it loaded up so at some point in time they were doing pretty good.

Have you tried to locate another Tank dealer who might have more current information and contact with them? Going the DMV route is fine but it is not going to get you parts or resolution in the near term if that is what you were thinking.

It seems your goal is to find out if Tank or anyone is currently stocking parts for your machine. If not then you really need to try to return the thing and get as much back as you can, even a portion of the total cost is likely less painful in the long run. Trying to unload something like this onto someone else is really testing one's moral fiber.

I know first hand the chinese import dudes are hurting very badly and parts are actually what is keeping cash coming in. New sales are poor as there is such a glut of decent used big brand at low prices.

Hang in there. Try to get some other connection to Tank. Obviously, the front door is not working for you. If they are in business at all, then there must be some folks who are doing business with them and know how to communicate with them. If they have cut themselves off from their active dealer network, it just indicates things at Tank are really really bad.

I did post the personal names of various contacts there. you can search and find them. get their home numbers and contact them. Secretary of State also has legal contacts for company's principal officers.

How about my 2nd choice? Worthless.. I figure they were downsizing.

The owners are all Chinese...The Chinese are very good at misrepresenting just about everything..

I just got off the phone with ebay and explained the situation. I opened a claim with them. They have the link to this review so they can get a feel for what I am going through. The representative told me I am covered since I bought it through ebay and payed through paypal. We have to wait 7 days for a seller response they told me. I told them that might be hard since I cannot contact them myself via email or phone. We'll see what happens. At this point after recieving more broken stuff over a month later I would like to get my money back and return the atv. I'm all done playing games with them. Hopefully motor vehicle will get back to me tomorrow also about this. I'll let everyone know how this turns out

OK. You are 100% spot on with that word.
Too bad as it seems like they had their shiiite together in the past. I agree with the downsizing too, reduce overhead of large warehouse to public-storage locker.

As far as misrepresenting things, that is just a culture issue. Different ways of doing business in different places. In many parts of the world, let's not pick on China, it sort of goes that if you are willing to pay xxx for yyy, then all is good. If you don't check things out, then too bad for you. We have it hear "caveat emtor" - beware the buyer. Some places make it the ONLY rule when doing business.

If there is no decent reliable parts for Tank then, lowbudget really has no choice but to try to return it asap. We all know you are very lucky if you can fit a big name part to fit and can not count on that to keep it roadworthy.

It his brothers ATV....always serviced by him (shop owner and friend) and in top shape.

.....it also has enough power to be ridden without getting stuck and can be ridden without breaking down constantly.....and parts are only a phone call away without having to play guessing games about what "might fit".....

....that proves my point.

Just pointing out the obvious. Anyone who has had dealings with a China wheeler is not likely to buy one second hand at the same prices a good, used name brand ATV is going for.....but hey, Tank found a sucker once so Im sure you can.

The silver lining.....I guess you only got took for $2600 instead of $4000 like other people have.

As mentioned the new chinese market is hurting. But there is pile of these things driving around North America .... they need parts! Someone has them, the companies that have the stock will be able to move the stuff. I wouldn't be too concerned about getting parts, they're out there. However it may not be as easy as it once was. This economy will clean out all the fly by night guys for sure.

I did not catch what this sister thread was about but it is faulty thinking that you paid $2500 for a new chinese quad so it should be worth $1500-$2000 used in like new condition. Don't hold out hopes for such things. The used market for chinese quads is far worse than used name brands. Stay focused on working like you are to get your money back any way you can!
