Default clutch

The other day i was riding my 4 wheeler and my clutch cable broke, i have pulled the cable as tight as it will go and try and shift it into gear yet it still jumps like im not using the clutch. I believe i may have messed something up inside the transmission. Any tips?

you should be able to pop the cover off and check it out to see if you have any physical damage.

well, sounds like it's time to pull the clutch. i wouldn't think that your transmission is somehow fouled up. i mean that if you have it in gear and you're riding around and you don't have any clunking happening, your gears are probably fine and not stripped.
i think the clutch replacement will fix you up. you probably didn't want to hear that. i totally understand. i hope i'm wrong and it's something simple. i'll keep looking around in my books/manuals.

you know now i'm wondering if the inside of the clutch fork assembly may be bent. you know, the piece that your cable attaches to but the other end inside? i'm not sure of the technical name of that part, but i am curious if that may have bent when it slammed back to the open position when the cable snapped. i got to dig on this some more to help you out.
