I pulled the clutch off and now can see the shift mechanism. I don't see anything bent or broken. I uploaded a pic to my photo album. Am I missing something? It feels like when I shift, the top left sprocket shifts ok but when I push the lever down to go to neutral or reverse, it doesn't move much. If I hold the lever down (back side of shifter), it will go into neutral. Is it something inside the gear box in the engine?

Have to get a helicoil to repair the plug hole but I think I will wait until I can figure the shifting issue.

Check the tightness of the nut holding the 5 star shifting piece. And also if that star shaped piece is moving completely or slipping under the nut?

It does all look good in the pic.. trouble is more than likely inside if everything that moves when your shifting is tight.
