Is dropping the clutch bad on an auto?

Hey all,
Ok you can almost wheelie any 4wheeler with a auto tranny by lifting a gear up, revving then dropping the shifter
my question is, does this ruin your transmisssion?, I dont want to sound stupid but after trying this on my Kota and figuring out that I can wheelie like the best it gets addicting and i drop the clutch infront of every one to show that i can wheelie, but this is almost the only way to get her up besides pullin back on a hill or incline, however i find that if your at a standstill in first and give a little throttle, pull back and gun it she can come up a little, but u gotta have a lot of arm to do that its pretty hard and i can only do it ounce every 10 hours lol
Back to the question tho, does droppin the clutch to do a wheelie cause damage?

The easiest way I find wheeling a auto is standing on the rack (of a ute) or by sitting on one leg far back on the seat or put one foot in the wheelie bar. Then gun it and push or jump down on your foot/leg/feet. that is the easiest way I hae found and it doesnt hurt the ATV as much as droping the clutch

It's hard on everything. It's bad for the clutch, the gears, the whole drivetrain basically. My buddy had a lakota for a few months(it was stolen) and it wasn't a hard bike to wheelie on at all. Maybe you just need some more practicing. Or you could gear slightly lower. You won't be impressing your friends when your bike is beat to bad to go riding.

Basically it is very hard on ur clutch because the bike is not meant to be popped into gear. My friend who has a 2001 Artic Cat 250 2X4 Workhorse 4-wheeler and he does it all the time. And hes only had it a year and a half and it is already starting to shift bad and making weird noises. When he goes to shift he sometimes has to hit the shifter twice to get it into the next gear. It might have an affect on the gears over time but it is mainly the clutch u r hurting cuz the gears are basically the same as they would be in a manual clutch tranny its just the clutch is meant to be smoothly engaged not engaged in a sort of jolt cuz if u roll down a hill and do it u will prolly flip the quad over on yourself or u will have a better chance of blowing the clutch out doing that than just popping it on a level surface. But if u still want to revv the motor and pop the clutch then i have another way of doing it. When u revv the motor with the shifter down so the clutch doesn't engage when u get to the RPM u want just as u let off the gas, pop the clutch and just after u pop the clutch give it gas again so u will ride the wheelie rather than just popping it up and setting it back down again

The kota has one of the strongest, if not the strongest cluches i've ever seen, but it will eventualy wear so much it wont engage. Thats if it it does not blow completly. IMO if your going to keep doing it I would install a K&G cluch kit for it. Its a whole lot tougher than the original cluch and the performance gains are incredible, so much that thier is no cluch slipage and all you will have to do to wheelie is hammer the gas and scoot your butt to the rear of the seat. Also for $40 bucks its worth it. Go to a Kawasaki parts dealer because thier about the only ones who will be able to order it. Its a good, cheap, fairly easy mod for the kota. If your going to keep poping the cluch, go with the K&G. It will last alot longer. At least when the motor blows from this the cluch will still be good.

I seen your mods and I thought you had all of the standerd stuff, but if all you have is the 13T sprocket and an air filter than maby your next step to help it wheelie should be a pipe and jeting. Do this and you will have a whole new machine. The performance gains are huge. After that the cluch is a good idea.
