Default vbike vs powersportsmax

I am going to purchase an ATV (Maybe 2) and after reading this forum I will probably go with a VBike. My question is I was comparing the 250 sports utility that vbike sells to one that was on powersportsmax and they look identical. After looking at the specs though the vbike version says it has 18 hp while the powersportsmax says it has around 15. Is it just the same frame with different engines or is there something fishy going on? Any thoughts. Thanks

Welcome to the forum danbyrd! _

I googled powersportsmax and found 22, yes 22, 250cc quads selling between $950.00 and $2200.00. Which one are you looking at?

I also found this powermotorsports complaints

As for the different specs from the different companies....Some embellish the facts more than others. And some might be smart enough to know the difference.

I completely agree that the horsepower is over-inflated so just ignore the HP numbers as they are just marketing. The 250cc chinese engines are acutally 197cc-229cc and have about 10-13hp. I would get the Vbike as they are well established with good parts support, and the Vbike is Taotao brand which are higher quality than some other brands like Sunl.

I looked at the pics and they do look a lot alike. I would go with the Vbike based on all the bad feedback I read about powersportsmax. I still cant find even 1 good comment about powersportsmax. There is even a thread about them on ThumperTalk.

Yes I am pretty conviced that Vbike is the best way to go. I was just curious about the motors. I will mainly be a part time rider anyway, mostly on beaches and such.
