I run an EPI big tire kit and the low end power/torque is definitely noticed! Well worth losing a bit off the top-end.

the question is what are you trying to gain in the clutch kit. most put it on for the oversized tires to help offset the power loss form the extra size and weight.

I would like a little more low end and maybe some in the mid range... i dont open it up to often so i dont mind giving up top speed for more power... but if the stock clutching is the best im gonna get with 26' tires then thats fine.

If you going to get a clutch kit, Try 26" tires. With 25" tires the stock clutching is fine. Your in low range under 20 mph anyways, cant get more low end grunt then that.

you might be able to get a little more grunt and a sharper engagement from take off. you could even get a quicker shift out to get at speed a little quicker which all leads to loss of top end speed. most of the kits as i mentioned are to make up for for bigger tires. i just have a primary spring in my bike to help w/ the bigger tires and it works fine for me. now if i take the big tires off and leave the spring in, my bike tends to want to whelie alot easier lol.

thanks for all the input... i think since im still running stock tire size ill leave the factory clutching for now... i wouldn;t mind being able to pull a wheelie with a 700 pound machine...

Probably a good call. The clutch kit will make it more snappy and you lose 4-5mph off the top end. Definitely not needed if sticking with stock sized tires. If you do go bigger and decide to clutch it the primary is an easy job but the secondary is a pain without the right tool. I did everything on mine except the secondary. Had my dealer install it and they only charged me $35. Brought it in and they had it done in no time.
