1996 artic cat bearcat 454 rear hub replacement
My '96 artic cat bearcat is in for a rear axle replacement. Turns out the left rear hub unfortunately is stripped. The repair shop can't find a replacement (part number 1502-178) and I've looked online and can't find anything that will ship to Canada (found one on ebay but only ships within the US).
Is there an after market hub or another option that will work? I understand this is an old bike and parts would be rare for it.
This bike has worked great for years until I got a fellow (who came highly recommended) replace the wheel bearings on the left rear wheel. When he put everything back together he over torqued the castle nut, the nut was also cross threaded on the end of the axle. This lead to the threaded end of the axle to crack off (leading to the need to replace the axle) and lead to the stripped hub. Problem is the stripped hub wasn't discovered until today after the replacement axle had been delivered (after waiting 9 months at a cost of $600!!). Sorry for the mini rant but I am frustrated because of the work of this one guy.
I would appreciate any help on this matter.
